“Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha Dravida utkala banga” is this what we sing only for the sake of being an Indian, or do we learn something from it. You guessed it right I am talking about the unity of our country.
Before it was all in the name of religion but now it seems has shifted to region, thanks to Raj Thackeray. Raj is certainly not doing something new, he is just repeating the history once done by his uncle Bala saheb Thackeray 40 years back. At that time, their aim was South Indians, which has flipped 180 degrees and is aiming North Indians now.
The start of this conflict seemed sudden as there wasn’t any incident that could have lead to the conflict. Just because Amitabh Bachchan has planned to start a school in UP and not in Maharastra seems a foolish excuse. This looks more like a publicity stunt to hype MNS as a prominent party in the country. But can anyone imagine how badly it affects the thinking of the people. It seeds hatred in the mind of people and compel them to think in that way. But this is something they don’t care about and the thing that they need is name, fame and power.
Raj thackery now being called Raj “SAHEB” Thackeray is like Bala saheb Thackeray and MNS gained enough name for the future State elections. Mission
You people might think why all of a sudden I am talking about this topic when almost everyone has forgotten it. Then that’s not the case because I feel some people has not yet forgot the thing and the seed sowed in the mind of people has taking shape. No I am not talking out of the blue but this is something I experience daily in the local trains. Be it the sarcastic comments or the direct quarrels or be it the graffiti comments in the train. For example the one which I saw today morning was “Meri Agli Supari, Bhaiya aur Bihari” which reminded me of a similar bad quote told to me by my friend about their religion long ago.
Now my only question to these guys spreading this non sense is that, have we all forgot our 61 year old history and 150 years long struggle for freedom. It is said that we learn from our mistakes but aren’t we repeating it because I believe if we keep discriminating on different grounds the day is not far that we will split in many small territories like we used to be 200 years ago.
So the future is in our hand and we have to decide what we want our country to be like.

Hey Man! U're right, it's not easy to forget such things....not even after a long time! Especially when it hits you in the face every single day of your life.... directly or indirectly. Those people who post obscene comments on the train walls should be hanged! Pyschotic morons who have no better work to do...
As for Raj "Saheb" Thackerey....lets just say, the truth will be out in the open soon, and people will see him in true light!
Yep. And the worst thing is the fact that these ppl dnt really need any particular reason for starting all this.
Hey Himan! The way u expressed urself is very well and I agreed with u. I must say These political leaders are just playing dirty politics. They dont have any grudges against each other, but yes, they like to provoked some stupid bunch of people against each other's religion, cast and region just to gain publicity and votes. If we as a common people dont take any step against it now, then i must say, this country which claimed itself a democratic and secular contry, will be poisionous for us to live a simple life.
U kw its like when these leaders hv no work 2 do..they cm wid such stupid acts to make sure that they r constantly in the minds of the public...by doing such extreme act they just prove wat level they can fall down to...
I feel that the main problem is this- Mumbai is at the verge of a major crisis i.e. population explosion... To solve this problem we need a "City plan". You cannot restrict any Indian from moving anywhere in the country...I think the problem should have been tackled in a different way...
Arre...dude. North Indians if ever plan on leaving this city, the whole stupid so called INDUSTRIAL CAPITAL of our country will come to a stand still... and yes, it is sad that people get so easily indoctrinated against people and start holding their home towns against each other, the least we can do is try and explain, but if anyone acts smart or continues to offend someone, they should just be pushed off the train. :) I am not 'ok-ok' when it comes to violence at any point, but I call it self defence may be?
Indeed a rather disturbing issue. Sadly people in genral choose to be ingnorant about issues as these and only raise their voice when a Raj Thakrey is out to provoke them(which is what he wants!)
It's not any other simple subject to overlook, its implications are more than annoying. All we can do is not be a part of it and stop those we can who try and make a difference of communities.
Nicely put Himanshu, good work.
